Case Summary

Allegations

This case centers around a pharmacy technician who, in early March 2022, accessed a pharmacy’s Covid-19 vaccination system under false pretenses and created fraudulent vaccination records for her then-boyfriend and his brother. Although she had already left her position at Wicker Pharmacy in Sheffield, the registrant requested login credentials from a former colleague by falsely claiming she needed them to check queue times for her cousins’ booster vaccinations. She also claimed to have forgotten her own login details. On 7 March 2022, she used these details to generate records for two individuals who had not been vaccinated.

The registrant subsequently provided multiple misleading explanations for her actions. Initially, she claimed to have received error notifications from the system, then later explained that she had mistakenly processed the entries while attempting to verify information for her boyfriend and his brother, whom she claimed were visiting a sick relative. The GPhC later found these justifications to be knowingly false, including assertions that she had accidentally processed the records, had accessed the system merely to check existing entries, and that the individuals were planning a visit to a vulnerable relative.
