Case Summary
Allegations
This case concerns a pharmacy technician whose conduct toward a colleague led to findings of discriminatory and bullying behaviour. The allegations arose from incidents in which the registrant referred to a colleague, who was autistic, using the derogatory term “mong”. The behaviour occurred on one or more occasions in the workplace.
The allegations were originally considered at a Principal Hearing in October 2025. At that hearing, two main issues were examined. The first involved claims that the registrant had deliberately introduced errors into pharmacy work in a way that placed patients at risk of harm. While it was accepted that errors had occurred, the panel concluded that there was insufficient evidence to show that these mistakes were made deliberately.
