Allegations

This case concerned a pharmacist who was convicted of serious criminal offences involving the distribution of indecent images of children. The conviction arose after police investigations revealed that the registrant had received and forwarded three indecent images (including video files) via WhatsApp. The material depicted very young children, estimated to be between one and five years old.

Although the registrant initially denied knowledge of the images during a police interview, he was ultimately convicted following a trial at Newcastle Crown Court on 16 August 2024. He received a 12-month Community Order, including unpaid work and rehabilitation activity requirements, and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for five years. Additionally, he was barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
