Pharmacist Suspension Ends After Dishonesty Findings Involving Dispensing Error, Complan Consumption and Use of Returned Prednisolone for Pet Dog

Allegations:
- On 9 September 2016, the registrant supplied a patient with Sumatriptan 50mg tablets instead of the prescribed Sumatriptan 100mg tablets.
- After the patient notified the registrant of the dispensing error on 11 September 2016, the registrant: Failed to inform the General Store Manager and/or Duty Manager within 24 hours; Failed to report the error on the Pharmacy Dispensing Incident System (PDIS) within 48 hours;
- Removed the returned Sumatriptan 50mg tablets from the pharmacy
- On unknown dates, the registrant removed and/or consumed Complan meal supplement products from pharmacy stock.
- On or around 18 November 2016, the registrant removed returned prednisolone from the pharmacy in order to administer it to his dog.
Outcome: The Fitness to Practise Committee concluded that the registrant’s fitness to practise was no longer impaired.
