Pharmacy Technician Warning: False Claim of Qualification and Delayed GPhC Registration Status

This case concerned a pharmacy professional who, before joining the GPhC register, obtained employment as a pharmacy technician by falsely representing their qualification and registration position. The Investigating Committee considered the matter on 21 May 2026 and decided that the appropriate regulatory outcome was a warning.

The core concern was dishonesty. The registrant had told an employer that they had completed their pharmacy technician qualification and that they were due to register with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician in September 2024. However, this was not accurate. The determination records that the registrant’s qualification had not in fact been completed at that time and was only completed in January 2025. During the intervening period, the registrant repeatedly told managers that the delays to their registration were administrative in nature, rather than explaining that the necessary qualification had not yet been completed.
