Date of Decision: September 26, 2025

Allegations: Dishonest appropriation of Neupro (2mg) patches without authorisation. Unlawful obtaining of Neupro patches without a prescription. Dishonest appropriation of various retail items and Metronidazole tablets. Unlawful obtaining and failure to record supply of Metronidazole without prescription. Abuse of professional position to unlawfully obtain medicinal and retail goods.

Outcome: Conditions of practice order imposed for 12 months

Pharmacist Removed from Register After Sexual Assault Conviction and Failure to Notify GPhC

Date of Decision: October 29, 2019

Allegations: Convicted of sexual assault on a female, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Failed to notify the GPhC of the conviction within seven days, breaching Rule 4 of the GPhC (Fitness to Practise and Disqualification etc. Rules) Order of Council 2010. Received a Police Caution for failing to comply with notification requirements under Section 91(1)(a) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Failed to notify the GPhC of the Police Caution within seven days, breaching Rule 4.

Outcome: Removal from the GPhC register

Newly Qualified Pharmacist Issued Warning After Unsafe Dispensing, Damaged CD Packaging, and Data Mishandling Across Multiple Pharmacies

Date of Decision: September 17, 2025

Allegations: Dispensing MST Continus 10mg tablets in damaged packaging to a patient. Repeated failures to check and prepare prescriptions correctly. Taking photographs of prescriptions and medication labels on a personal phone. Possession and attempted removal of confidential patient information from pharmacies. Failing to ensure correct contents in prescription bags. Placing Diazepam boxes containing tablets in confidential waste. General disorganisation and untidiness leading to prescription errors.

Outcome: Warning

“Hero” Boots Pharmacist Suspended for Codeine Theft, Record Tampering, and Unsafe Supply Practices

Date of Decision: September 16, 2025

Allegations: Removal of approximately 10–15 packs of Codeine 30mg without payment or permission. Entered the pharmacy outside trading hours and amended records using staff initials without authorisation. Dishonestly attempted to conceal codeine removal by falsifying records. Knowingly supplied excessive Co-Codamol to a patient at risk of addiction, without medical justification. Supplied medicines and retail items at discount or free of charge using a staff discount card, without employer permission.

Outcome: Suspension for 12 months (with immediate interim suspension)

Pharmacy Technician Suspended After Inappropriate Physical Contact with 17-Year-Old Staff Member During Car Journey

Date of Decision: September 10, 2025

Allegations: On 12 March 2021, the registrant drove a 17-year-old female employee from the pharmacy to a nearby car park; while inside the vehicle the registrant intentionally: (1) held her hand; (2) kissed her hand while holding it; (3) stroked her hair; (4) hugged her; (5) kissed her head, from forehead down to her cheek; and (6) attempted to wipe her tears off her cheeks. That the registrant’s actions were inappropriate. That the registrant’s actions were sexual in nature. That the registrant’s actions were sexually motivated.

Outcome: Suspension for 4 months, with an interim suspension imposed until the decision takes effect; a review is directed before expiry of the suspension.
