In this case, the Statutory Committee of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland considered the fitness to practise of a pharmacist convicted of a criminal offence involving dishonesty. On 4 October 2024, the registrant was convicted at Londonderry Crown Court of making a dishonest representation on a Universal Credit application. Specifically, on 14 March 2019, the registrant falsely declared on her application that her financial information was complete and correct, omitting to disclose significant capital assets.

This misrepresentation led to an overpayment of Universal Credit amounting to ยฃ52,036.26 over a four-year period. The conviction was under Section 105A(1) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992. The registrant was sentenced to 18 months in custody, suspended for 3 years.
