Case Summary

Allegations

This GPhC Fitness to Practise case concerned a registered pharmacist who was convicted of a serious drink-driving offence and then failed to notify the regulator within the required seven-day period.

The conviction arose from an incident on 19 October 2023. Police were called after a concerned member of the public reported that a drunk female driver had crashed her car and was attempting to drive away. A police officer attended the scene in Romford and found the registrant sitting in the driving seat of her vehicle. The officer described her as not making much sense, with very slurred speech, glazed eyes and a strong smell of alcohol. A bottle found on the passenger seat, apparently a Robinson’s juice bottle, was said to smell strongly of alcohol, similar to wine or brandy.
