Case Summary

Allegations

This troubling case centred on the conviction of a registered pharmacist for two separate incidents of sexual misconduct during patient consultations. In both instances, the pharmacist exploited their position of trust to engage in behaviour that was sexually inappropriate, unprofessional, and distressing for the patients involved.

The first incident took place on 9 May 2021 at a Boots pharmacy in Edinburgh. Patient A sought advice for a rash and was taken into a consultation room with the pharmacist. During the consultation, the registrant made sexually inappropriate comments after the patient raised her clothing to show the rash. The pharmacist remarked on her underwear and used sexually suggestive language, leaving Patient A distressed and in tears.
