Case Summary

Allegations

This case concerned a pharmacist whose fitness to practise proceedings arose from a criminal conviction following an incident on an international flight and, importantly from a professional-regulatory perspective, subsequent failures to disclose that conviction to the General Pharmaceutical Council.

On 4 March 2023, the registrant was travelling from Ahmedabad in India to London Heathrow on Air India flight AI171. Evidence recorded in the determination described the registrant as nervous, anxious and unwell during the flight. Cabin crew provided assistance, including water, and the registrant was served alcohol.
