Case Summary
Allegations
This case provides an important reminder that a pharmacist cannot delegate away their personal professional responsibilities simply because a service has been established or directed by a more senior pharmacist.
During 2022, the registrant was one of two pharmacists working regularly at a community pharmacy that was also involved in a substantial overseas online prescribing and dispensing operation. Prescriptions originated from an online prescribing service, with the evidence showing prescriptions issued by a prescriber based in Bulgaria for patients located in other countries, principally the United States.
